Shot this video after my weekday early morning ride. Fibre Flare is really very visible! Highly recommended if you cycle a lot at night or early mornings!
I was kinda inspired after watching a few episodes a Malaysian program called Asian Food Adventures on the Asian Food Channel. It is a wonderfully (and tastefully) done and conceived program that touches upon local Malaysian traditional street and coffee shop fare. The difference between this program with many others, at least to me, was that it was able to connect to the human side of these dishes....focusing on the dish, the history, the evolution and most importantly the people who continue to cook and serve them. I feel kinda nostalgic and a bit sad when it is apparent that the cook is the last to serve those dishes as his/her children are generally not interested to continue the trade which brought them up. Strange but true. So yes, it features a lot on the older generations....and when these people stop cooking, the dish is either gone forever or in some form or another re-surface as a boutique dish served up in some old skool dish chain restaurant like Old Town White Coffee or...
The Fulcrum Racing Zeroes arrived yesterday morning. Looks to be of good build quality. Each wheel actually has a 'builders cert'. I installed the wheels, tyres, brake pads and got about packing up the HEDs properly (still remain my absolute favourite wheel!) last night. No problems with the Di2 - no adjustments required. On this morning's short 17km ride on wet roads, I guess they felt ok. Could just be my imagination, but its seemingly bumpier than the HEDs but it also could be because I filled up the 25C with 110PSI (!). Its not as light as the tubulars but by only a tad. The look of course, does not satisfy as much as a deep section wheel would. Anyway, looks ok, feels ok, rides quite good (but need more testing) based on today's short spin.
Saturday : Did a short 60km ride on my SS with KL. He wasn't feeling great so did not complete the intended 80km West Loop target for the day. Great weather though! Getting harder these days to pull myself out of bed....there's a constant struggle on "should I" or "shouldn't I" in my head. So far, I managed to pull myself out but it getting harder....no thanks to work! Sunday : Wanted to do 80km West Loop on my own but decided in the end to do something different for a change. First off, try to hit average speed of 30km/h from home to end of Jalan Buroh (did it!) then make a u-turn and on the way back hit the 3 hills....South Buona Vista, Teluk Blangah Hill and Faber via Kg.Bahru approach. It's been months since I did Faber and it shows. I struggled to stay above 10km/h at the steepest section (12-13% grade), I did have 2 cogs left on the 12-25 but as I recalled, I used to be able to do it comfortably, even with 3 cogs left. Wanted to do another roun...
