Apparently they are still building stuff, albeit a little bit more low key and shipping to specific shops (eg. condor in UK). Hope they can make good....even got their location!
Started out at 5.50am from my place with Ben and met with KL at usual AML meetup ard 6am. It was leisurely pace up till amk ave 1 where I kicked up the pace a little bit. Both followed suit very well and we kept a good pace till right before the hills (from AML, >30km/h average speed). It is great to the distance with a few buddies and of course, really nice to have someone to draft once in a while. At Jalan Buroh, I had a short duel with a TREK bike. He overtook us after the 2nd flyover at 40km/h and I gave chase. I pushed at 40km/h and he drafted me all the way till the last flyover....by then we were only about 35km/h as there were some headwinds at that point. At the base, he attacked and overtook me, I just kicked the pace up to stick to his tail. As expected, halfway through the short slope, he ran out of juice and I sprinted pass him. He did not give chase. I stopped at the traffic lights turn-off into west coast highway to wait for the guys and as TREK guys passed we both ex...
...is only 13km and I did it yesterday morning. Had to be back early to bring the kids out for a nice KFC breakfast (which they thoroughly enjoy!) so opted to run earlier by myself, at my own pace. The pace of course, is the usual disappointing pace. Has to be the shoes! hahaha Did quite ok IMO for the first 6km but slowed a lot going through upper east coast road due to the countless curbs. I've been bitten by the running bug now. I will focus more on it once TDB is over! My next target will be 21km in my minimalist Pumas! Target pace : 6.5mins/km....
Yes, it was nice to complete the 160km and all but the trip itself to Kuantan was wonderful. This is my FIRST TIME in Kuantan and Ben's friend CY (with his dad) were excellent hosts despite their schedule. What makes this also very special to me is that they are Singaporeans, residing/working in Kuantan! The irony : The Singaporeans working in Malaysia, hosting the Malaysians working in Singapore, in Malaysia! Ben basically drove the entire way up (this made me feel even worse for not waiting for him during the final portions of the ride...). Right just after Kota Tinggi, in the middle of nowhere, we went to Kiang Kee Bak Kut Teh. Great tasting stuff over here! Possible one of the best I've tried anywhere. Probably has a lot to do with MSG as well. Along the way, at Endau, we wanted to try the Nasi Lemak with Siew Yuk (roasted pork) but could not find it...that would have been great. At Kuantan, we visited some new land developments. Seems like the there has been some kind ...
